Blenhiem Apartments are located within walking distance of downtown Detroit’s Grand Circus area. The 1920’s vintage building is adorned with masonry columns and scroll work around the front entrance. Aside from occasional flourishes of patterns in red brick, it’s an uneventful building.
Behind the Blenhiem to the south is, the Women’s City Club built in 1919 and the Detroit Chapter of the Colony Club. Both of these institutions were important to the women’s suffrage movement because it provided women social and work activities to support their cause. Further down stands the recently renovated Kales Building designed by Albert Kahn before 1922.
